カナダMAID対象者要件緩和法案 Bill C-7

Bill C-7 introduces a critical departure from the original legislation, including an elimination of the 10-day waiting period between approval and lethal injection, removing the provision of a “reasonably foreseeable” death for those with disabilities and chronic illnesses and dropping the need to reaffirm mental “competency” at the time of MAID provision.

What this means is that likely an additional 6,000 Canadians will die each year as a result of MAID. These people will not be terminally ill, but rather, individuals with chronic medical conditions and disabilities, sometimes also mental illness, whose suffering will lead them to choose death.
